Pick your processor, your graphics card, and your resolution. We compare the two parts on our own performance index — built from manufacturer specifications, not copied from anyone’s benchmark table — and show you the index ratio at each resolution, plus two separate upgrade answers, kept separate on purpose: the sensible step that closes at least half the index gap, and the full index match that would even them up on paper (often overkill, and we label it as such). Both steps are chosen on performance only — price and value are not considered, because we hold no price data. Each step is verified by re-checking the indices before we print it.
No fake precision: any site giving you an exact bottleneck % is inventing it. Here is why — and how our index works.44 CPUs and 56 GPUs, ranked by our own performance index, derived from manufacturer specifications — see the methodology page for how.
A faster card can need a bigger PSU. Our wattage checker adds up your CPU, GPU and system overhead — with the headroom explained, not hidden.
